Halloween 2017

It is Halloween again... The streets were full of children trick-or-treating and a lot of people were dressed up at work and schools.
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays here at Language Systems!
The schools were all decorated and we had candy everywhere.
It was so much fun to see everyone in costumes!
Check out some pictures from our costume and pumpkin carving contests:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Pizza Tuesday

Around 20 students from LSI Downtown joined teacher John for pizza at Pizza Rev last Tuesday night. At Pizza Rev, you can design your own personal pizza with any toppings you like for only $6.99 (Tuesdays only).

We are doing this every week, and students are finding it a good way to relax and use the English they learned in class, as well as making new friends! Why don't you join us next week?

Learning American Street Slang

Friday, Oct 20th was the first Street Slang class at LSI downtown. Several students came, all eager to learn new slang so they can use in their everyday conversations.

Game at Dodger Stadium

What a day for LSI students to attend a major league baseball game at Dodger Stadium!!

Beautiful weather, Hyun-Jin Ryu was pitching (making our Korean students happy) and the Dodgers won in a come-from-behind victory in one of the most exciting games of the season so far!!

It was the first Dodger Stadium experience for many of the 19 students from mostly the morning classes at LSI Downtown, led by teacher John.

Not many people can say that they saw a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN at their very first major league baseball game! Go Dodgers!!

LA Dodger Game with teacher John!

Saturday night, June 18th, teacher John from LSI Downtown took 12 students to the Dodger baseball game.

It was a beautiful evening, and the Dodgers won in an exciting game with many hits, home runs, and fine plays.

It was the first time at Dodger Stadium for almost every student. They enjoyed shopping in the team store for hats and T-shirts and trying the Dodger Dogs and nachos.

Everyone had a great time and are looking forward to the next game!!

Valentine’s Day Celebration at the Downtown Los Angeles Campus

Valentine’s Day Celebration at our Downtown Campus

Valentine’s Day is such a popular holiday in the U.S.A!

Last week we had an awesome Valentine’s Day celebration! Students, teachers, and staff gathered at the front desk to take some romantic pictures and enjoy some chocolate fondue…

The chocolate fountain was very popular! There is nothing better than chocolate covered strawberries on Valentine’s Day!

While students enjoyed the chocolate fountain, some of them shared their countries’ Valentine’s Day traditions. It was a lot of fun!
In the United States it is very common for couples to exchange gifts. Chocolate and flowers are definitely the top gifts on that day. It is also very common for children to exchange valentines at school. They are little notes with romantic messages and drawings given along with candy!

                                       Happy Valentine’s Day!
